Dover Veterinary Hospital, a small animal referral hospital is seeking team-oriented individuals to fill a variety of positions currently available. Focusing on the powerful bond that exists between a person and their animal companion, Dover Veterinary Hospital exists to provide progressive medical care utilizing state of the art equipment and services. Committed to the highest standards of excellence and compassion, our dedicated staff offers advanced care in the areas of internal medicine, orthopedic/soft tissue surgery, ophthalmology, and general medicine.

Currently, we are seeking qualified individuals for the following positions:




Surgery/Ophthalmology Technician

In this role, you will work directly with the ophthalmologist and staff to maintain proper and complete medical charts including anesthetic records, surgery flow sheets, and other data. You will also follow standard protocols and maintain clean, sterile and organized treatment areas, exam rooms and labs.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Assist the ophthalmologist in clinics and operating room
  • Perform a variety of ophthalmic diagnostic tests (IOP, STT, etc)
  • Venipuncture, IV catheter placement
  • Proper cleaning, sterilization, and assembling of surgical instrument packs
  • Maintain surgical suites (cleaning and stocking) and equipment
  • Operate steam and gas autoclaves
  • Process various laboratory samples
  • Client education
  • Schedule appointments, telephone triage, invoice clients for services rendered

A degree in a health related field preferred (preferably animal science), or two years experience as a technician preferred. Candidates should also have the ability to communicate and work independently in a fast paced environment.
